Free vs. Paid-for Content
Not all speakers speak for free. In fact, somebody please tell us, right here, right now, the biggest fee you know of for a speaker (if not confidential). Does President Clinton still hold first place in this category?
As we ask experts in their field to read or answer questions before and after an event, can we charge attendees and the community at large for their consulting services? Could the organization offer this service to its members for a fee, then pay the subject-matter experts? Let us know your thoughts about fee-based content, sent as an RSS feed, e-mail, or posting on a blog or wiki.
Think Globally
Web 2.0 collaboration tools allow anyone, anywhere, in any time zone to learn, get more information, participate, and add content. Have we just increased the membership of societies and organizations to include those in India, China, Russia, and everywhere else?
